Terms of use

The agreement between you and Fledger when you upload a transcript. We tried to keep it short. Last updated February 2026.

What Fledger is

Fledger is a free tool that uses AI to suggest colleges based on the academic information in your transcript and the preferences you tell us on the way. It is a discovery aid — not a counselor, not an admissions service, not a guarantee. We do not communicate with any school on your behalf. We do not file applications.

The advice disclaimer

Every recommendation Fledger surfaces is generated by a language model and labeled honestly as a Reach, Target, or Safety based on your stated profile. Models can be wrong. School data (admit rates, average GPAs, costs, deadlines) is best-effort estimation, not contracted truth. Always verify any number, deadline, or program detail directly with the school's official admissions page before you make decisions that depend on it.

Acceptable use

• Do not upload a document that is not your own transcript.
• Do not abuse rate limits, scrape recommendations programmatically, or reverse-engineer prompts.
• Do not submit content designed to manipulate the model into producing harmful, illegal, or defamatory output.
• Do not use Fledger to advise other people commercially without prior written permission.

Rate limits

To keep the service free for everyone we cap each session at 8 transcript uploads per hour and 30 match requests per hour. If you hit a limit you'll see a friendly 429 with a retry hint.

Intellectual property

The Fledger product, branding, copy, illustrations, and source code are owned by Fledger. The recommendations generated for you are yours to use, share, and act on freely.

Changes & termination

We may change these terms or shut the service down at any time. We'll publish changes here with a fresh "Last updated" date.
